Synthesized sci-fi shooting. This is a one of the results of my attempt to complete a school assignment. We were supposed to create a gun or canon fire sound with audiogen synthesizer. Let say that this is my best result that could be "loosely" called a gun firealthough it has a sci-fi spin on it :-).

This is a snippet of perth's majestic bird life. The birds that feature in this recording are black cockatoos, and it was taken at the kensington bushland reserve at dusk. These birds are tribal, have incredible energy, and are extremely communicative, and hearing them squawk is one of my favourite parts of living here.

I used a minidisk and two pzm's and a home made spliter box that worked only if you never touched it. It was one in the morning to try and avoid most of the traffic. Rain starts about half way in. I needed a sound of someone falling down some stairs, so i grabbed a pelican case (took the camera out of it of course) and dropped it down the stairs a few times while my mate was holding a zoom recorder at the bottom. At one point the case hit my friend in the leg, but don't worry, he is ok.

It's an all synthetized sound created on audacity. I wanted to recreat the sound of an ovni, but not one that makes people scared : like there is only one alien in this ovni but it seems pretty nice. I started by created a new audiotrack, then i generated chirps and keeping the default values. Then i duplicated the track and made a stereo track of both. I add wahwah effect on the track, changing and modulate the different default values (for example, highest dept and a lot of resonance). After, i add phaser affect on the whole track to make the sound a little bit more spacial. Then i normalized the track. Last, i raised the speed twice by 2. These are two guitar solo outtakes from a guest guitar session i was asked to be on. They essentially wanted that early era slayer vibe where there is more cacophonous noise than structure. I think i recorded 15-20 for two sections in one song. They chose two other files and this was the one i liked best to keep as a memento. I am the creator and owner of the audio contained within the file. I know guitarists these days want to sound like an andy sneap plugin, but this may give someone a different idea. Within the context of the song they were for they fit well. I'm not apologizing for the playing or quality of the recording. Just something i did for a friend that took me 4x as long to set up than total time under the red light. It was fun.

This is a bass sound, not tuned but it is a perfect loop withouth clicks. It has no panning effect - i will do that on another sample. It is not tuned - use a program that tunes the samples to tonal. You must use it only in one octave from c5 to c6. In other octaves sounds not like a normal bass.

3rd in chromatic order. I recorded 16 notes from a music box. I waited for the motor to loose juice then i wound it forward manually so i could record each separate note chromatically. There are two octaves plus one note. Begins with d and climbs up the scale ending with e.

There are various sound sources, and beats occur as the magneto-striction is phased by arrival time at the mic. This recording is from further away than the first one. A sound i thought i could hear in my mind and i thought i might be able to find, but decided to go out and create this one. We went out and literally hit metal rulers against a metal staircase handrail, and then went into audacity and reverberated a copy underneath the sound, and tweaked it a bit to add the lasting effect.

Big breaker switch for one of three phases of power coming into an industrial metal shop. I'm pretty sure it was a 50 amp breaker. . You can hear a transformer buzzing in the background and a fan start once the switch is thrown. Fairly roomy (being a large concrete garage type environment) but usable. Recorded on a zoom h4. .

I couldn't find any real and free glockenspiel sounds,so i recorded my own on my sonor g30 glockenspiel with my cell phone. . . Then i manipulated the samples with cubase. I hope you like them and do whatever you want with them!.

My 1st recording with my marantz pmd661, with enhanced preamplifiers by oade brothers. I used my two matching stereo samson co2 microphones with the input level on 7. Recording made around 9pm at night on august 1st, 2014 in a small midwestern town. The chorus of cicadas and tree frogs is very steady on this one.

Decided to call this sound "electronic modular rhythm" since i found only one other spot on the net with that combination of words. Starting with eerie sounding buzzing/fan noise on the street, entering into one of the buildings around rockerfeller center, new york city, and then into the lively underground shopping mall. Ended up briefly walking thru a guided walking tour and walking down the steps with them.

Taking a medium blade out of its sheath. One arm sword, big knife, or dagger, for foley or game effect. Same sound without the high pitch metal resonance in the pack.

The sound of a midland x-talker ringing when i hit the call button. It sounds like one of these old home phones. All i did was plug the walkie-talkie into my computer and then record the sound when i push the call button. This could be a good walkie-talkie sound.

This is merely the sound of a cd case opening and closing (if anyone is interested, it was the cd for the ending theme of the cross ange anime, sung by eri kitamura, though that doesn't change the sound. . . )this kind of snapping sound can also be used for little things opening and closing. I used this sound for a medicine cabinet sound at one point.

I searched for a long time to find a jaws harp sample and eventually found one and successfully extracted a few notes from a very old appalachian folk song field recording, well out of copyright. I sampled a single note, which then fed ok into a midi keyboard, allowing me to effectively play jews harp melodies. The result was pretty ok.

I stopped and recorded los angeles canyon traffic on my way to work. Nice selection of engines, cars, etc. Was on a hill, so engines pull harder going one way than the other. Recorded with: sound devices 702t, beyer dynamic mc930 mics.

Took a ride on a historic steam engine in the lake district (england). This was recorded from inside the carriage while in transit. Some background talking but a lot of good mechanical clunking type sounds. This one was recorded pointing the mic at a rattly window.

A one minute walk through an old factory building in reading, pa converted into an arts center called goggleworks (the factory made safety goggles among other things). Sounds include footsteps on creaky floor, elevator ride, climbing metal staircase. Recorded with tascam dr40.
